Buying REO properties in Pittsburgh, PA

Is anyone here investing in the pittsburgh area? I am interested in purchasing REO property in the area, and im trying to figure out where to start.

How does one go about getting the jump on one of these kinds of deals?

I have used realtytrac, and was very dissatisfied with the service, because most of the property that I came across were from outdated public records.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

I hear sometimes they spend sleepless nights researching the bounty.

I dont honestly think some one doing that really has time to post in forums trying to help create competitors.

Raj - Perhaps you've spent too much time on other REI sites. People here help one another.

Robert - You need to start developing your network. One of the many keys to success in REI is networking and building a team of people that you trust. Use this site, go to local investor events, and start interacting with others who are doing what you are doing, and others affiliated.

You'll start to make contacts who can give you the inside word on REOs, foreclosures, and other deals that are out there.

Give it time and be patient.

You also need to be ready when a deal comes your way. Understand how to analyze a deal. IF someone presents something to you, you should be able to make a decision within minutes, or you risk losing a deal. This comes with educating yourself.

Stick around the site, read up, and you'll find your way!
