Due diligence for auction properties

Hi All- Been keeping an eye on some auction properties and have questions about proper due diligence. Obviously a visual inspection is needed, but beyond that, what else is recommended and how do I find that information? Where do I look for liens? What liens are dealbreakers, meaning, how can I tell if a lienholder would or would not accept a payment after I acquire the property? If anyone has a checklist they use, that would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

@Corby Goade the county records will be where you can verify liens on the property. If your bidding on trustee sales make sure you don't bid on a junior lien as you'll then own the first lien. You can also form a relationship with title companies that can shoot you and O/E (Ownership and Encumbrances)
