Title Search for Foreclosure Properties

My wife and I are attending our first sheriff’s sale in the Indy area! We’ve narrowed the list of homes down to three.

Question: What is the best way to perform a title search? I’d like to ensure there are not any other mortgages or liens on the property.

Get a title search done by a local title company, or there are many  companies that offer nationwide and can order online, such as ProtitleUSA.

Otherwise, if you know how to navigate the county recorder site then can do yourself.  However, Marion county's is very clunky in that you can't do wild card searches, have to enter exact spellings/notation/grammar etc and cannot retrieve the documents for free.

Therefore, pay the ~$100 each to ensure nothing is missed.
