Best color combination for countertops and cabinets?

I'm looking to do a major rehab on a rental property that has all hardwood floors and the walls will be painted Agreeable Gray.  What are the best color combinations for the kitchen cabinets and countertops that will be the most appealing for future tenants?

From my experience everyone has different taste. However, going neutral is the best way to go on an investment property. Right now people are loving the light Grey cabinets with a white veiny granite.

Hi James,

If they have built any new large Class A apartment complexes near you maybe go have a look in person. (just pretend to be looking for an apartment)

Many like to Greige the walls, and if you find 2 or 3 you can get an idea of what they think will be popular cabinet and counter colors in your area with Agreeable Gray (a form of Greige).

For comparison, many public assistance projects use Navajo White or some for of it, because they don't have to worry about attracting renters. So I'd assume their cabinets and counter tops choices are just as nonchalant.

Every year kitchen colors/countertops color combos change. Predicting the future is impossible 5 years ago Grey in the kitchen was unheard of, Now everyone does it.

In 4-5 years my bet is on yellow, but it could well be Neon Pink and Green
