Long Distance Investing from SoCal

Hi Everyone,
I am based out of San Fernando Valley in LA county. If anybody is else also near by would definitely be great to meet up or connect. I am looking for real estate meet up groups.
Given that I live in SoCal, seems to make sense to invest in out of state. Hoping to learn more, just recently bought David Greene's long distance real estate investing book. Other advice that you would like to touch on or piggy back from the book please share. Would love to hear.
Thank you everyone!

Jonathan, I'm in the Central Coast here in CA but invest in Detroit. I own 12-doors there and lived in the Metro Detroit area from 2017-2022.

I'm an expert in that market and obviously biased :-)

I still actively invest in Detroit but also help others find off-market deals and then plug them into my network of contractors, PM's, etc.

Happy to discuss.

Hi Travis, I live in LA and are very interested in investing in Detroit, I've been studying the areas, which ones are better than others, closest to airport and or hospitals etc. I am planning a trip there for this June to take a look to some properties. i am trying to buy cash and then use a hard money lender for the renovation. I would love to connect with you so I can ask you some questions, if you don't mind.

We routinely go to detroit DTW metro area for work trips with our lenders and the town is a lot nicer than the movies (8 mile) give it credit for and sure theres the "mile" streets which are pretty rough but the suburbs around DTW are some really nice areas.
