investing during a recession

how do experienced real estate investors adjust their strategies during a recession to protect cash flow and spot buying opportunities?

also as someone looking to get into the market. how should i adjust my strategy (look at my last post for my strategy) during a recession to protect capital?

Can you define what you mean by protect capital?

To me that seems like a very cloudy term- maybe you can talk a little more about what you mean??

One of the things to think about  is that during a recession it last for an unknown amount of time.

The other thing that is important to consider is how stable is your living situation, and your income situation.

During the recession are you going to be in a situation where the cash that you have you need that to maintain your living standard versus having to shack up in your relatives extra bedroom or something, which happens to some people during a recession when they lose their job or have to take a lower paying job.
