Deployment offers opportunities
So, I am a 21-year-old college student in the National Guard. I was recently told that I'm getting deployed in September, and I will be gone for a year. I was already looking for my first deal with FHA since I have a little financial wiggle room. I've been listening to Bigger Pockets since middle school, and I have a good bit of general knowledge on real estate. I'm reaching out because I should have a ton of downtime on deployment, and I want to work toward something. I would like to do something that will help me with real estate, but I didn't know if there was anything I could get online. All of my college classes are in person, so there's no rushing that. I don't exactly want to be an agent; I'm just looking for something that helps in addition to real estate investing. I looked into like paralegal stuff, but idk how much that would help. I already plan on committing to learning the basics on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical, so I can use that personally and lower the costs on things that don't actually need a professional. I'm just kind of looking for direction, as I have a year to learn whatever I can and get paid for it. It's a unique opportunity, and I want to really make the most of this time.
