Sandusky, Ohio market

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about the Sandusky, Ohio market or can point me in the direction of someone who does.   My mother in law's neighbor recently died leaving the house to out of state children who want to sell the house. I'd like to see if this would pencil out as a rental but know nothing about Ohio.  I'm a California gal.  The house is actually in Castalia, Ohio.

I'm just beginning to research the area so any tips would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Kathy

I agree Jared.  I have been eyeing properties there online, there seems to be some opportunities there (though I must be estimating more conservative than you as my caps are around 10-15%)  I need to find a real estate agent and can't seem to find much for property management except Sandstone, who looks expensive on their website.  I am not terribly familiar with the real estate market in Sandusky.  I have family with a rental in nearby Bellevue but not much in common really.  My preliminary thought would be that Sandusky would provide similar demographics of B-C areas of Toledo and Cleveland, without the D-F areas.  The City has several incentive programs for homeowners and landlords to improve properties too I believe.
