In looking at the Section 8 rates for Baltimore on http://resources.baltimorecountymd.gov/Documents/housing/housingdatasummarysheet.pdf, I was wondering if these are the rates that the government will pay regardless of neighborhood in Baltimore or are these suggested rates? I am new to Section 8 rentals and need more information on how it works.
It works like a square wheel. Rental rates are based off home features, bedroom count, and avg neighborhood rental price for equivalent unit too some extent.
If you care more about your ability to collect your rent than the condition of your property and the paperwork involved Section 8 is great.
@Tiffany Boulden i can't speak specifically to Baltimore county. I don't have rentals there. I can tell you the published number for rents for the city are the MAX possible rate. You absolutely Can Not count on those numbers. I suspect the same is true in Baltimore county.
