Recovering assets like seed capital post natural disaster

What is the best path to take after a natural disaster to recover the maximum amount in damages? I feel the need to pick myself up and brush myself off after losing an investment in Florida, and am wondering if the claim will cover seed capital requirements for my next investment?

Need more details....was this hurricane wind damage, flooding, total loss, partial, etc?  Seems like a long time if this is from Irma.
