Converting three car garage into a room

Hi everyone,

I live in Turlock, California and I’ve been doing a lot of research in our market and looking into many deals and just can’t get the numbers right.

My question here is it possible to convert 1 of the three car garage into a studio and rent it out? I was wondering what the California law in regards to this is?

I believe there are some ADU laws in Cali that should allow for something along these lines. Your best bet is going to be to check with the Code Enforcement office for your municipality and see what they say. It all depends on what zoning district you are in. From there, they may be some lot size requirements, etc.
