F1 Student trying to get a Loan for a duplex.
Hello everyone! I am on a student visa (F1) here in the US. I am working as an Engineer with OPT. As I am trying to purchase my first investing real estate property, I ran into some roadblocks. I have saved up 20% down payment on a duplex I am trying to purchase. As I'm rolling along the loan process, all of the lender I talked to rejected my application because of my visa status. Is there any way for me to solve this problem to get a loan for the duplex? Thank you guys very much!!

You will qualify as a Foreign National with many lenders. Conventional and Agency lenders do not allow F1.
Expect more down payment and higher rates though. My guys go up to 75LTV and rates on 30yr fixed are in the high 8's, low 9's.
Are you working with a mortgage broker at all? One can help you find a lender that is a fit for your situation.
