Has anyone heard of Insula Capital out of NY? Any feedback would be great. Thanks!

Stay away from them. Found a Yelp that matched my situation with them. Poor handling of account. Drug out the process so long I had to pay additional EMD to save the deal. Got plenty of assurances that credit was “excellent,” but never any forward movement. Always “one more thing” after another. After 2+ months, I lost the property plus $3500 in EMD and fees. Won’t return phone calls or emails.

Wow. Thanks for your response.  One of their reps, Mike Meaham, reached out to us out of the blue. I'm very apprehensive on using someone who doesn't come highly recommended. Especially A lender as they are notorious in this business for being full of crap.

Has anyone else used them? I see that the original post and most of the responses are you old so I figured I'd check.

Run in the opposite direction Folks. These guys talk a good talk and collect Appraisal Fees. But no action.

The Dominion Group out of NY pulled me out of the funding mess I experienced after waiting for month on Insula to deliver.

I would STAY AWAY from them.  I should have done more research and paid attention to the other comments.   After 3 weeks of receiving the appraisal (2 month total process), I got a text from Harold (Insula Rep) that they will decline to lend.  Since they wouldn't answer my call, I texted back why and the response was "economics didn't work."  My intention was to refinance and fully renovate a duplex that was appraised at $740K.  I was looking to payoff the underlying loan of $156K, and add construction hold-back of $250K.  Thus, at a 55% LTV, the economics don't work.  And the fact I got a text instead of a call with no further explanation.  Therefore, I would NOT recommend them!!
