Tax write off mastermind course as business expense

Ranjith K.
Posted

I am planning to take mastermind courses for real estate investment business. Different programs costs $2000-$13000, yet to finalize. I wanted to know what's the best way to go about it so that I can tax write off that as my business expense. I have not yet setup the business. My plan is to pay for the course with my personal credit card now and then create a business LLC later in a few weeks. Any suggestions/advise is greatly appreciated.

Speak to your CPA as I have had some tell me this expense may or may not be able to be written off. IF you are paying with your personal credit card and then creating a LLC that even adds more suspicion. Think of it this way of going to take a college class and then trying to write that off with your business. Some have noted to me that if it is not required for a license or for doing business, you may have trouble writing it off. Thus speak to your CPA as I get conflicting information on this topic.
