Property Management 1099 Fees

Hi BiggerPockets,

I currently own 3 rental properties and I noticed my property manager billed me $50 per property for “1099 preparation”. Is this normal or should I push back on this?

This will be my 2nd year with these properties and was not charged this fee last year.

Thanks for any insight,

Ryan

If there are other good PM’s in the area I would ask if they charge that. If they don’t I’d draw my line in the sand. Current PM can waive them (forever, not just this year) or I’m gone. I have 12 properties with 1 pm and would never pay $600 for 1099’s.
