Thank you all for your thoughts. I will go back and check our contract to verify and try to renegotiate if necessary.

Hi BiggerPockets,

I currently own 3 rental properties and I noticed my property manager billed me $50 per property for “1099 preparation”. Is this normal or should I push back on this?

This will be my 2nd year with these properties and was not charged this fee last year.

Thanks for any insight,

Ryan

@Marshall Mok

Its a weird feeling knowing that same thing has happened to me. Ive been questioning it for a while now, but don’t necessarily want to burn a bridge if there aren’t a lot of good options in kzoo. What other company’s have you reached out too?

@Marshall Mok

Hi Marshall,

My name is Ryan and I also invest in kzoo using Jakobson. I’ve found it to be the same situation you are describing. I struggle with the communication and level of detail with maintenance billing.

Thanks @Omar Ismael!

It is reassuring to hear a success story like yourself. Did you find it difficult to qualify for those loans by yourself? or did you guys end up using a cosigner?

Thanks @Bill Hamilton,

That is the same advice as the lender just gave us, which we plan on doing in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for the reassurance.

Thanks @Russell Brazil, is there a point where we should just jump in rather than waiting for the score?

Thanks @David Dachtera,

Is building business credit the same concept as building personal credit? Would it be a good idea to put my first property into a business entity if I currently live in it?
