Worth it to hire a financial advisor?
Is it worth it to hire a financial advisor? The one I found seems to understand my investing goals and my tolerance for risk well. Its a $1,500 annual fee and I'm nervous that they might just try to sell me life insurance or something. What is your experience? What should I look for in a financial planner?

I was a financial advisor for years before moving over to commercial real estate investing. Yes, they will almost certainly try to sell you life insurance or similar products. But is that the worst thing in the universe?
I think a big benefit of having a financial advisor is having someone who can help take the emotion out of investing for you. A good FA will talk you out of panic selling because you read a scary article on the Wall Street journal. FA’s aren’t for everyone, but the vast majority of wealthy people in the US have one and usually for good reason. Just like with hiring anyone in an advisory capacity, it’s important to conduct your own due diligence which is what it sounds like you’re doing.
If you have any specific questions, I’d be happy to answer them.
