Can anyone recommend a financial advisor?

Hello Colleagues:  I am looking for a financial advisor who knows small scale SFR real estate and other retirement and investment tools for a  diversified portfolio.  I want someone certified who charges by the hour who I can partner with as an advisor.  I need someone who will challenge my entrenched thoughts (hence the psych background) and provide fresh ideas.  I've done my own stuff for a long time and it is time for an influx of ideas and energy from someone bright, professional and trustworthy.  Quality leads appreciated.  Thanks.  Jeff

@Jeff M. Hello, were you able to locate an advisor. I'm in the same boat and looking for someone to work with and assist in planning regarding both financial planning to increase my real estate investing portfolio as well as personal finance (IRA, 401K, child's college costs). If you could provide any contacts you may have successfully encountered?

Are you open to working with your financial advisor remotely? I recommend finding a financial advisor who specializes in working with real estate investors. You may want to consider working with your advisor remotely to expand your options.

I would also recommend looking for an advisor who is willing to work with you throughout the year. You want an advisor that can help you strategize and who is responsive when you want to know the consequences of the financial decisions you are making throughout the year.

You should also look  for a Fee-only advisor who is not going to try to sell you a product and/or try  get a commission.

I’m confident you’ll be happy but please let the group know either way.  Not many financial planners are brave enough t forgo the heavy commissions of insurance sales, stocks, and commodities like Scott and I would like him to be rewarded and more to take the plunge.

@Steve Kirsch see my comment about @Scott Jensen he’s one of a kind financial planner.  He left his old form because they wanted him selling their BS instead of helping RE  investors grow. You need to meet with him.

Have you considered a CPA tax advisor who can also help you understand financial modeling for rental properties etc.?

Good luck...I been looking for this for a long time and have not been able to find suitable partner.

I have joined some investment groups and use some of the other members to bounce ideas off of and get advice.

Can anyone recommend a financial advisor?
