Section 8 issues

Mary Jay

Posted

The section 8 has not paid for 3 months.

The tenant says she submitted the paperwork, the section 8 said the tenant did submit the paperwork but the 3rd part company (NanMackey) says they need the paperwork. Apparently that NanMackey processes payments...The section 8 wont help. Nobody answers phones, not the sec 8, nor that NanMackey...

They did not pay for 3 months.

Should I evict the tenant? What would u do?

Sorry to hear about this issue. I am surprised that no one at Section 8 has responded. In my state (Florida), I am able to find a case worker or supervisor to respond within 24-48 hours. The city has a list of multiple supervisors to email. Find your local housing authority's website. You can try sending mass emails until you get a response.

At this point, you can also consider hiring an eviction attorney. 3 months of no payment with no light at the end of the tunnel is a huge problem, and this should be treated as an emergency.

Good luck!
