Economic Impact of Vacation Rentals

Ella Compton
Posted

In the article, Brinkman challenges the negative perception of short term rentals, arguing that they actually strengthen communities. Unlike hotels, vacation rentals keep money local (travelers spend more at small businesses, stay longer, and often explore areas that are overlooked by hotels).

These rentals also support jobs and provide homeowners with extra income that can make housing more affordable.

How can communities manage vacation rentals in a way that balances economic growth with concerns about housing access and neighborhood impact?
