Requesting Shorter Term Lease

I just got my first rental property listed. Ideally I'd like a renter in there for at least 12 months. However, I received a message asking if I'd be willing to accept a shorter term (6-9 months) while they build a new house in a neighboring town. It's not what I wanted but if it were 9 months (starting in June) it would put me at March 2027 when I'd be turning the property over. From investors more experienced than I am, is there a down side to shortening the length of the lease?
