Real Estate goals

Do you have very specific Real Estate goals or just random numbers and data?

Do you say I want to purchase a bunch of properties by the time I’m _____ years old?

OR:

Do  you say I am going to buy a 6 unit by July 31 of this year so I need to  look at 5 properties each week and write no less than 3 offers each  week until I buy the property?

How do you list your goals?

Are they in your head only?

Verbal?

Written?

Spreadsheet?

On the bathroom mirror?

On your dashboard of the car / truck?

In your office?

Do they change with each info commercial?

Will you put them into action after you ______________?

Are they so big you haven't started yet?

Are they broken down into daily, weekly, monthly, annual, steps?

Do you track them?

Or will you get to them tomorrow...................................................

I love written goals, I have them in note form and excel spreadsheet form, I have them memorized and look at them all the time.

Great reminder to have specific goals! I have mine written out and look at them once a week at the most. I find that I have had little time lately to review goals daily as I've been so busy with the rehabbing, selling, and renting deals.

My goal is to have 8 rental properties (we are at 5 right now and 7 units). My goal is to get them as fast as possible (not very specific) We have got 2 of them so far in 2017 and should get the other 2 this year yet assuming all goes well.

Goals are important but they are not everything. Understanding the realestate biz takes time and too fast growth can put portfolios at risk if the person is not ready.

I made my own 10X Planner a la Grant Cardone.  I write specific goals down everyday, morning and night.  These can be the same goals over and over again, or they can change, but they are all longer term goals that I have.

I also write down daily goals, which are called targets - these are things that I need to get done TODAY. For instance, call 2 lenders, analyze 3 properties, touch base with my property management company, etc.  When I accomplish these "targets", I write them down again in my successes section so I can easily keep track of and see what I have done and what I still have left to do.

I have very specific long term (5-10 year) goals that help to drive my specific short term (1+ year) goals.
