Starting an LLC for property ownership

Hi, I currently have one SFH I own and am renting out. I plan on expanding and purchasing more investment properties as I get to a better place fiscally. My question is should I start an LLC to own my current and future properties under? What have you guys done, and what is the best route to go about starting an LLC? Thanks!!
