Property manager says I can't raise rent
Hi,
I had a tenant move out after only 1 month. The rent was $525. My property manager is charging her until we get a new tenant in the unit, which I agree with, since she signed a one year lease and broke it. My question is this: I'd like to increase the rent to $570. She (prty mgr) says I can't do that. I can see the situation from both sides. How do I get a tenant at the higher rent for the next year, while still honoring previous tenants responsibility of paying $525 until it is rented? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

@Renee Granger You can charge the old tenant $525.00 and still look for a new tenant at $570. Maybe PM misunderstood what you are trying to do. PM works for you and you set the price. You don't ask, you direct PM.
