What source do you use for Rental background checks?

I am hoping to hear what are your best practices for rental background screening? I will tell you what I currently do. I place ads via craigslist and Zillow and try to gain some info on the people. I will use email and I am always careful what I will put in writing. I deal with many college students, but sometimes I get crazy family stories that poor in, and I have heard every weird one possible. If the situation sounds good, I then move from email or text, to a actual phone call to get a better idea who I am dealing with. Lastly, I set a showing with a current tenant that is willing to help me, which is about 99% of the time thankfully! I use a site called MYSMARTMOVE.COM as my son recommended it. My concern with this site is that I just had someone with 5 collections and the site nearly always RECOMMENDS the tenant. Even with some slow pays it seems to recommend the tenant. Does anyone else like and use this site? Are there better ones out there? Thanks for you input!
