When a tenant is evicted does it go on to their credit report

I won an eviction by default in NJ my question is does the court decision go on the tenants credit report?

If it is suppose to go on the credit report automatically how does that happen because the court does not use the ss# on the paperwork only name and address.

Do I have to follow up and do something?

We have not finalized the process so at this time there is no small claim for money just an eviction with a warrant of removal scheduled.

Any ideas on this?

No, this won't show up on a credit report if you only got an order for possession. A money judgment might, but even then I don't think it shows up on a credit report.

My screening process specifically looks for eviction records as a separate action from the credit report. The eviction data is obtained from somewhere within the legal system. The credit report is obtained from one of the "Big 3" credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion). And of course criminal records are a separate search as well ...

The next landlord to get an application from these evicted tenants will have to conduct an eviction search to find the eviction case. Since there is no SSN to match to the identities of the applicant, that next landlord will have to contact you to verify that their applicant matches to your evicted tenant. This is where your "follow up" comes - your cooperation will help the next landlord avoid your evicted tenant.
