Neighbor's tree fell in my backyard.

Due to an ongoing thunderstorm a significant portion of my neighbors tree fell in my backyard ruining our summer plans.

Should I just pay it myself to clean up the tree?or should I follow up with the neighbor to have it cleaned and pay for it?

Thanks

In my experience (Not an expert but been through a couple)

1) If tree hits ground it is now owned by the person who's land it falls on.

2) If tree just hits ground and does no damage to property, the owner of said land is responsible for removal costs. (Insurance won't touch it)

3) If tree falls on ground and damages property (lands on a lawn chair) then insurance will take care of it and removal
