Reasonable Appliance Installation Cost

Hi fellow BPers, I recently purchased new appliances (dishwasher and a gas dryer) for my first house hack in Houston TX area (Katy) and been looking to hire someone to install both of them. All the quotes that I've got were in the range of $200 - 400 (typically ~$150 for each) which seems to me to be too excessive especially for a dishwasher that by itself costs ~$450 ........

Are those numbers reasonable or am I getting all the "retail" price quotes?

What is your recommendation? Do I find a handyman to do the job for cheaper (what price should I expect for this kind of work?) or is this truly a skilled typed of job and I need to pay the big $ for it?

@Alex Bush installing a gas dryer takes probably 10-15 minutes. If you have to change the valve then it might take 45 minutes. You are getting retail pricing there for sure. I would network with local folks to find a cheaper installer.
