What: Big Real Estate Networking Summit! (Targeted Networking, Speakers/Panels/Q&A, Breakout Sessions, Vendor Access)
When: Sat & Sun, Nov 15th and 16th, 2014; 8:30AM-5:30PM (confirmed!)
Where: San Francisco State University (confirmed!)
Cost: $TBD - Sign up on link below for updates
SIGN UP / UPDATED INFO: Please fill out the meetup questionnaire so I can better connect you and meet your wants! This is the link that will always contain the updated info: http://www.meetup.com/Real-Estate-Networking-Summits-REmeetup-com/events/182097922/

The goal of this event is to provide you with personalized connections to those who matter most to your investing style and interests, provide a live forum and targeted events to network with those individuals, great speakers with plenty of time for Q&A & Panel Discussions, and vendors available to answer your questions or connect - without any hard sales pitches or guru speakers just trying to peddle their programs. As the host and organizer, that is my commitment to you! There are no corporate sponsors. I’m not selling any systems or books. Just a great RE networking event to help get you better connected and expand your real estate world!

It's amazing what even one good contact can do for your investing..
That tip. That loan. That deal.. That lasting connection! Come meet and select from a couple hundred other investors interested in sharing their experiences and expanding their network, and see what it adds to your real estate game!
Over 90 BP members have expressed interest on my “placeholder” posting so far.. http://beta.biggerpockets.com/forums/521/topics/126194-massive-re-investor-summit--sf-bay-area-oct-2014?page=9 , but please keep your comments on this posting, and be sure to sign up for my meetup group at the following link, so you get the updates:

http://www.meetup.com/Real-Estate-Networking-Summits-REmeetup-com/events/182097922/

There will be private lenders and hard money lenders present, out-of-state investors and vendors, fixers/flippers/rehabbers, wholesalers, buy/fix/holders, residential & commercial investors, and more.. And targeted forums and sessions to connect those who are interested in the other! Speaking sessions will include plenty of time for attendees to ask questions to speakers, and there will be several panel discussions to get a variety of perspectives on these and other topics, in addition to the targeted networking events. I expect to announce speaker & ticket information, in addition to more details on the event agenda, in June and July.

This is not a CA-specific event, although I’m sure there will be lots of CA investors here.. And this is NOT a Bigger Pockets Summit (BP Summit not scheduled this year..), although many BP members will be coming, and I’ll offer @Joshua D.  and @Brandon Turner free tickets if they can make it back out to another awesome, longer, and much more targeted, RE networking event of mine in San Francisco!

Once again, if you haven’t signed up on my meetup group, do it now to stay up to date!http://www.meetup.com/Real-Estate-Networking-Summits-REmeetup-com/events/182097922/

Please reach out if you have any questions. A tag on the forum is great, in case others have the same question. And please introduce yourself on this BP posting also if you’d like to come, even if you’ve already posted on the old forum. A great way to start making connections before the event!
Looking forward to seeing and introducing you to others there!

@J. Martin - I was super impressed this weekend!  Shows the power of your force of personality to get so many experienced and selfless pros into the room to provide some great information and pointers for others.  Loved that no matter your experience level, you could definitely come out of the weekend with some great motivation, action steps and relationships to follow-up with.

Great job and congratulations on a great weekend.  I was proud to be a part of it and look forward to getting back to the bay area for your next super event....

    - Landlording/Property Management knowledge (manage 12 owned and co-owned unit)
    - Short-term furnished rentals (have a unit on AirBnb and one for international students)
    - Getting cash flow where it's difficult (I get near or over 1% monthly rent/price on all my properties in the Bay Area - even the purchases in 2014.)

    WANTS

    - Distressed or discounted properties in Oakland or Richmond, CA.
    - Partners looking for good cash on cash returns and hands-off management in land-constrained areas of the East Bay with high rental demand in the San Francisco Bay Area.

    - Meet and share with great people and other investors

    GOALS

    - Be able to wake up whenever I want, and wear flip flops every day :)
    - Create enough passive income to achieve goal #1 (I see RE as best option)
    - Network with and help others in their investing
    - Double portfolio from current $1MM in assets and $100K in gross rents within 2 years (if the deals can be found!)
    - Explore more short-term furnished rental options to achieve help achieve goals above

Thanks for putting this event together @J. Martin  and others.

My business partner Paul Lussier and I will be there to discuss how we can help investors maximize and tune-up their financing.

    HAVES:

-Experience in SFR buy/hold, flipping/renovating, syndication, Agent/Realtor/MLS related

-Happy to network and share ideas with experienced and newer investors.

-As a loan consultant, I have developed relationships with private and institutional funding sources that will lend to almost any borrower on almost any kind of Real Estate...residential, commercial or land.  Just need to show ability to repay.

    WANTS:

-Meet Wholesalers, agents, realtors and others with good flip opportunities in the Greater Bay Area with a true net profit of around 10% +.

-Investors looking for a consultant that can help them with their Real Estate financing.

-Info or ideas for marketing to find motivated sellers for flip projects.

    GOALS:

    2015:

    1. To have multiple sources of passive (or semi-passive) income that more than doubles my expenses.

    2. Put together a highly profitable Syndication.

    3. Build a steady stream of opportunities for renovation, holding and wholesaling.

I'm looking forward to meeting many of you and sharing my experiences with you. My presentation is done and just needs some make-up now. I'll be profiling a handful of deals I did this year and the different strategies I used to accomplish each. I'll share some tips and tricks I use when doing seller financing and selling wholesale, whole-tail and retail. It will definitely be worth the small investment to come to the event so make plans on being there.

    See you next weekend!

Wow! Thanks for letting people know Peter! Likewise, if you all can tag a few friends who aren't going, I appreciate it! Hopefully the agenda will paste here OK.. For anyone down on the Peninsula in San Jose, or further down in Monterey, Santa Cruz, or out in Walnut Creek, Stockton, Sacramento, etc. who need to drive in, here's what you can plan around (but try to make it for all of both days! It's rare to get this kind of targeted opportunities to network!) If you live in San Francisco, no excuses!

@Sergey Tkachev and @Elijah Artman , post your haves and wants here (can copy my post above) so everyone can get to know you better. And anyone else you know in Sac you can tag that might want to know about it? I'm excited to have @Al Williamson down from Sacramento to share about his innovative strategies for increasing income (and don't forget to ask him about his upcoming book on doing the same!

@Orion Walker is coming down all the way from Ukiah, and of course we have @Marcia Maynard and @Brandon Turner coming down from even further up in Washington. Many more from about 7 other states and all over Northern and Southern California, including Los Angeles, @Bill Exeter from San Diego, and all over this beautiful state and country ;)

@J. Martin  Just looked at the agenda and noticed that Gary DiGrazia, Sr will give his insight on probates, how to find, market and close (deals).

Like Rick Harmon, Gary Digrazia is a good guy as both are very busy as investor's.

No they are not guru's as both are passionate in what they do.

Rick gave me good advice awhile ago (procrastination on my part) that I just implemented, sit in at the probate proceedings (Placer) and listen to what's going on.

Yes, I feel attorney's (probate/estate) need our help, what with the family conflict they have to sort out just so that "final distribution" is filed..

    Everyone have fun!!!

Thanks for the shout out @Mark Pedroza  for @Gary Digrazia. He's a great probate local around here who's been in the industry for along time. Excited to have him out. @Jerry Puckett from Irving, Texas will also be talking about marketing and prospecting in on the same panel - along with @Aaron Mazzrillo from Riverside / SoCal, who's using all kinds of strategies to make sure more deals get closed - quicker, with less effort!

NOW THAT INVENTORY HAS DRIED UP, IT'S TIME TO GET BUSY FINDING MORE DEALS!!

I wish I had the knowledge and experience of the Marks and Garys of the world, but I feel like I'm stretched a bit thin as it is, so I'll just buy them from you guys for now ;)

Want: Connect with Fix-Flip, wholesalers and Multi-family investors to make connection and built long term relations.

Goal: Buy and hold SFRs. Get into fix and flips and  Multi-family homes / Apartments.

Thank you for the opportunity @J. Martin

    See you all there!

    @Gagan Johal ,

Where are you in contract, and looking for multifamily and flipping opportunities? Are you looking for multifamily out of state? Flips her in San Francisco, San Jose, or lower-cost areas like Fremont, Oakland, Richmond, Pittsburg? Some are still doing well all over and on high-end, but deals are definitely a lot fewer than they used to be.. We'll be talking about it more at the event..

@Denise Madrid , @Chris Music , and @David C. are local flippers (and David will be sharing his experiences at the event, w/ about 20 flips locally). The environment has definitely changed in the last 3 years, 2 years, year, and even 6 months..

@Brian Burke has done over 600 flips nationwide, and should be able to share more about what he's seeing in the market right now. And has experience with multifamily.

@Account Closed is coming out, and is very experienced with the Bay Area, and multi-unit properties, especially down near San Jose. @Al Williamson also has a multifamily in Sacramento.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend at the Summit.  I should be arriving around 9:30 ish and would be happy to meet with anyone that would like to discuss 1031 Exchange strategies.  I will also be speaking in the afternoon.  I will be hanging around during the happy hour for those who would like to network further.  Unfortunately, I have to head to Florida for another speaking arrangement early Sunday morning.  See you all on Saturday.

@J. Martin Thank you for those connections.

My current SFR escrow is in Sacramento. I am open to flip homes in Sacramento, Solano county (where I currently live) and greater bay area.

Multi-homes, I'm more towards lower-cost areas as in Solano county, Sacramento, Fremont and Pittsburg.

I am open to drive as long as it is for a good deal and staying in California, get established before I venture out of state.

@Johnson H. was looking to put together a syndication deal where it made sense in Fairfield, Sacramento area, or a similar area with better cap rates and upside In the project. Maybe he can share a bit about what he was seeing out there..

It's harder to get the good cap rates here in the East Bay, but there are some opportunities if you're willing to roll up your sleeves, rehab, and increase the rents...

Hi to all of you planing to attend the summit.  I would love to attend myself but can't as I live in New Zealand.

For those of you that don't know my beautiful country, we are in the South Pacific with a population of about 4 million people, the same as some of your small cities in USA.  I have properties in Memphis and Atlanta and would love to do business in Dave Van Horn's notes as it is still staying with Real Estate but not having to deal with tenants.

This is where this event would be good as with doing business from another country is in some way similar to doing business from another state.  There is a major need for friends that you can talk over problems and can help out with some of the business.

I realize that this is where the Networking comes into it's own and was wondering if there is anybody out there who is also doing the Notes from a distance and anyone doing business with the USA from another country in general and would like to share their experiences with another long distance person.

    Thanks

@Colin Green , welcome (from across the ocean), and sorry you can't make it out. You can still get ahold of @Dave Van Horn on his website here. I'm glad he is able to make it out to the event.

A lot of investors shift into notes when it gets harder to find deals, they are looking for higher cash flow, or tired of dealing with tenants.. Excited to hear more about the performing and nonperforming note options at the Summit next weekend on Nov 15 & 16!
