How to find local emergency contacts for long distance STR?

Hello everyone, I am new to STR and just bought my first home in Desert Hot Springs, but live 2 hours away in LA. In order to get a business license, you need an 12/7 emergency contact. My question is... for those of you managing your own STR from long distance, how do you find these emergency contact people? Also, any general advice is much appreciated. TIA!

Having one or two local emergency contacts is essential, not just to check a box so that you qualify to have a STR.  There are all sorts of things that can happen where you need to be contacted immediately by someone with "boots on the ground."

Fire, flood, accidents, crime, power outages, guest emergencies, evacuations...you name it.

If you are self managing from afar, it's prudent to make a trip to the property to see if you can establish a couple of relationships to fill this need.  A trustworthy neighbor would be the most likely candidate.

Is this in the San Bernardino mountains? Most property managers there offer full management services for about 30% and also the bare minimum check-in and 24/7 response service for a flat monthly fee. Just search for property management shops and reach out to them.
