STR insurance - Yucca Valley

Hello BP community!

I am getting closer and closer everyday to finishing my STR property in yucca valley. The town of yucca valley decided to update their ordinates and STR permit process starting June 1st. Applicants now need to have "certification of short term rental insurance" upon application. Has anyone dealt with this before that can lend some advice? I have called Farmers who which i have my homeowners insurance with but they do not offer this type of insurance. Not sure why we would need an additional policy on top of my homeowners insurance. Any leads on insurance companies and or work arounds would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

-Blaine

Because you are not a Homeowner in this case, you are running a business and need commercial insurance. I use State Farm, but there are also Insurance Companies specific to STRs like Proper and others. Get enough insurance. Perhaps an umbrella policy on top of your commercial policy to cover injury accidents, falls, etc.....

Good Luck!
