Short term rental ordinances

I intentionally bought my property in a non-HOA area because the hoa's are heavily restricting STR's… now I saw a post on my municipality's website with updates to the STR rental ordinance and they are discussing it in the town meetings. What are you all doing if you're experiencing the same problem?

property is at lake Wallenpaupack by the way

Exactly what @Quinn Olivarez and @John Underwood said. @Brandon Ribeiro, get in there and be vocal. Don't go in there without some facts and figures. Go prepared.

When the tiny little town was discussing STR's (there are only 247 people) I told them how much money our rental brings to the community. I ping my guests off and on whether they went to the restaurants or shopped at the stores in town. I was able to extrapolate how much my guests spend in town and it was into the 5 digits which is pretty good for a tiny town.

They know that the town and area relies on tourists coming either by car or boat and spending the day and money. The more they get the better they do. In the end all they did was require a license each year for $35.

Just don't go in whining and screaming about it. Go in with facts and figures.
