8 years in and things are still good. No reason for us to move to another type of investment.

First thing @Andrew Sangar, they aren't AirBNB's. They are short term rentals. AirBNB is a platform where you list your STR.

There are a ton of things you need to research and learn before jumping in. I would spend a ton of time on this forum reading all the posts. Just about everything you need to know is right hear, then come and ask specific questions.

Hey @Drew Ballard, for a good photog, you should contact a few real estate agents in the area and see who they use. Maybe look at a bunch of listing and see what the pics look like and ask about those you find attractive.

I would make sure that whomever you choose, that they don't overprocess the pics and that you actually own the photos vs them.

I have never really gotten into the whole influencer thing. I guess I could see it working but most of those kind of people are complete knobs and I wouldn't want any of their followers staying in my place.

Hey @Craig Jones, so that isn't something I would be interested in and I am in a market like Tahoe in Coeur d'Alene Idaho on the lake but quite rural.

I guess I would be interested in hearing about what you are thinking this is going to cost and how many guests you would be able to accommodate.

Tahoe is a pretty vast area around the lake and including all the ski places. You could have potentially a very large number of guests coming to use the facilities.

I could see you investing 5m in a complex like you are talking about.

It is possible I am not completely understanding the scope of the project.

Hey @Saad D., @John Underwood makes an excellent point.

It is very important to start your research on what is required to manage that level of STRs. Most likely anyone will need some kind of license and strong insurance if they are in charge of 20 STRs. Without that done first, anything else won't matter much.

Are you looking to become a property manager for STRs or ?

I am curious as to the motivation for the research.

So @Gi'angelo Bautista, most of us here own our own properties.

Managing a hotel is really not the same as co-hosting a STR IMHO. You can get a 4 year degree is hotel hospitality and all the folks that I know who run hotels have that degree.

Great post @Mike Lambert as per usual.

So, regarding Spain, what about the various restrictions and outright elimination of STRs by the government?
