Resort / Golf Cart Community for STR

Jacqui Casey
Posted

Hi! I'm looking to purchase my first STR for under $600K and I'd love to find something somewhere where I actually enjoy going for any repairs and maintenance. I live in California but am looking more towards the East Coast for my investment.

I've seen a couple of communities like Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach where you can buy a SFH in the community, there's a pool, lazy river, bar and restaurant, etc., and you drive your golf cart around to each place. I have a friend with a place like this in La Quinta, CA but those houses are way out of my range.

So I was wondering if anyone has seen anything out there like this that has affordable houses and hopefully affordable HOAs too. I'd love to hear about them, thank you!

Ocean Lakes is set up like a MH park. You don't own the land, you rent it. Who knows how much the land rent could go up.

It is very popular though.
