Should i be providing disposable toothbrushes and extra toothpaste to guests? Is this an amenity worth spending $$ on?

I see some hosts doing an "I forgot" box and adding that to their listing photos. I am sure that people who do forget their toothbrush are appreciative. That said, I don't think you are getting new bookings because of it. IMO you are better off not doing that. If your cleaner forgets to leave one out for the next guest then they could leave a bad review because they were expecting it. Stick to the basics.

I provide an "in case you forgot" basket at mine. Ear plugs, eye masks, toothbrush/toothpaste, makeup removers, etc. All bulk and relatively cheap from Amazon. I agree with @Michael Baum do guests mention in reviews? No, but I know it helps. Most of my locations are in areas that a store maybe 10 minutes away.

I guess it is a nice touch, I would and maybe possibly should consider it in higher end listings I own and/or manage. However, as must as we strive for a hotel like experience we are not a hotel and we make that clear in listing and our welcome letter. We include a couple days of essentials like toilet paper, etc to get them by. We have learned over 8 years most times whatever gets left gets used and/or taken. These items add up over time and if your listing is not killing it this could affect ROI.

So we provide a bunch of extras "just in case". Like contact cases, wrapped toothbrushes among other things. They do get used and I am sure they are appreciated. They might not state it in their 5 star review, but I am betting that it creates positive thoughts and that helps the reviews.

I don't think it's expected nor do I think it will get you extra business or higher rated reviews. There's not a ROI on it. Just one opinion...hope this helps.
