House Hack Glamping Possibilities near PDX?
Hi all,
I've recently begun to consider developing a glamping house-hack situation. 2-3 tents or "geodome light" type structures on a property with existing house. I figure this would be easier for water and power infrastructure, not to mention financing. A small property (2/2bath, <1500sqft) that could be renovated or rebuilt is the goal.
Where should one focus for a desirable weekend getaway less than an hour from the city? Or should I look further out for easier zoning? My head goes to Hood River/Dalles, Banks type areas. I'm not big on camping (hence interest in glamping haha), so need guidance. Areas with a mix of tree cover and views desired.
Thanks,

@John Underwood, PDX is the airport code for Portland, Oregon. :)
@Chris Wilburn ok so you are going to have to really research this, hard.
If you are anywhere near a municipality, having multiple tents setup in a yard as "glamping" will most likely run afoul of zoning and really bring the ire of neighbors.
What I might do is look out near Bend maybe. Get outta town, like way out. No HOA's for sure. I wouldn't want to be in sight of neighbors as well.
Minimum of 5 acres, even more if you can swing it.
You could also head west towards the coast. Maybe contact @AJ Wong for areas near the coast that might work for this project. I could see that sort of thing working out near the coast, but again, you really don't want to cause issues with neighbors and cities/counties.
Now you might also look closer for a SFH and add a single ADU. Might be easier to get past the city.
