New STR regulations in Colorado? (Park County)
Park County, one of the last jurisdictions near Denver untouched by STR regulations, appears poised to make changes to its Airbnb laws.
The county stretches from Bailey on the east (50 minutes southwest of Denver) out to Fairplay on the west (45 minutes south of Breckenridge). I have several clients with Airbnbs in both areas because of its mountain vibes but either proximity to the city of Denver or the skiing/summer activity of Breck.
After a series of community meetings last year, they released a report here. There's no draft ordinance yet, but some highlights from the meetings:
-- There's majority support for a cap on future short-term rentals.
-- Cap specifics don't exist, but many think it should be around 1,100, the total of licensed and unlicensed STRs currently.
The way Park County is so understaffed, I suspect it will be months if not longer before something passes, but it's something to watch.

One small point. This isn't for Airbnb Laws.
Airbnb is just one STR company.
It's for STR laws.
