STR near a national park

Marc Shin
Posted

I'm looking at a potential STR near a national park. My main concern is that logically, it would seem that most of the bookings would only happen on the weekends, and less demand on the weekdays. Any concerns with lots of vacancies during the weekdays for STR's near national parks?

I'd be less concerned with weekday v weekend and more concerned about seasonality (depending on which national park you're talking about).

Rocky Mountain National Park here in Colorado is a huge draw, and visitors come to Estes Park and stay in short-term rentals during the week, during the weekend, all the time ... but waaaay more in the summer.

All short-term rental markets have some seasonality, but some seasonal spikes and lulls are more pronounced. That's the bigger thing to watch for in an STR location in my book.
