What quietly eats your time the most?

Curious to hear from experienced hosts:

What's the part of running an STR that turned out way harder or more draining than you expected going in?

Not the obvious stuff like cleaning, more the things that quietly eat your time or stress you out once you're in it. The day-to-day that nobody warns you about.

I am with @John Underwood, I don't spend a lot of time prepping apps and setting up a bunch of extra steps. I find it just plain easy to use the VRBO and AirBNB apps for everything.

Nothing has really has gone the way you are mentioning @Thomas Peter.

Just by reading everything here and asking questions really prepared us for things that could happen.

Running a tight ship and keeping everything maintained will reduce most headache causing stuff that could happen.
