Guest verification isn't about treating every guest like a risk.

Verification isn't about assuming every guest is a problem.

It's about knowing who you're welcoming into the property.

Depending on the booking setup and applicable platform rules, hosts may use appropriate verification processes to help reduce risk.

The important part is having a consistent process.

Know what information is required.

Use legitimate verification methods.

Protect guest information.

Follow platform and local requirements.

Good screening should feel professional not invasive.

The goal isn't to make guests feel distrusted.

It's to create accountability while protecting the property, the guest, and the hosting business.

I don't screen people, But I do require they send me a copy of their driver's license.

15 years into this I am comfortable with not get getting a seperate agreement when booked on Vrbo or Airbnb. I don't stalk people and try to look them up. I have better things to do with my time.
