Home Away/Vrbo Holds funds

Have had guest in property now for over 7 days. From VRBO fact that they have not paid for the guest stay to the host is no big deal. It is something they took non chalantly and stated, maybe your get paid this week but maybe not.

Realize they are doing technical changes which will in long run really ruin them. However, to have a guest in a home for long stay and not be paid is absolutely non excuseable and they handled it with little care. This is all over BBB and they know issue and still let it drag out.

End result cancelled all vrbo guest was multiple full months coming and just could not take the risk. With there advance pay feature coming into play now. The good host will be good host the bad will scam them and ultimately, will they have funds to pay.

That seems like a lavish statement. However, fact is fact, this is a crooked world often. Host will setup, take 6, 7 months advanced pay and at anytime they can close bank account, close vrbo and move down the road. It will happen, this is a invitation to ruin a lot of vacationers vacation and desire nothing to do with such risk.

Likely even the transition to this is what has caused current issues of not being paid so do not need to wait to see the effect. The effect is already here and such reputation will precede them.

These occasional gripes against Airbnb, booking.com, TripAdvisor, VRBO, whatever.

I have been on several Airbnb and the home away forum.  owners complain and run away from platforms in the long-run wind up making less money.

the smart owners are on all the platforms. And use every advantage to try to maximize their revenue.

You can gripe or make money.
