HomeAway / Airbnb Reservation Question

We just went live with our first short term rental.  I know great timing.  We have had 3 people send requests for booking on HomeAway in the first 2 weeks of being live.  Of the ones we have received, one was for 29 days in March / April 2020 and one for 14 days on July / August 2020.  With all of the bookings we have received, no one has followed through and confirmed with a payment.  I wasn't really expecting anyone to be booking right now.

Is it normal to receive requests and guests not follow through and complete the booking? I understand that this can happen but it has been this way with the 3 bookings we have received.  Just curious if we are missing something.  Are people waiting for a response back?  A response with an offer for a bigger discount for longer stays?  I just want to be sure we aren't missing something.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Jeff

You should definitely reply to every inquiry. I answer any questions. Sometimes I give them a call. Vrbo premier partners see the persons phone number if one was provided.

I would offer a discount on longer stays. That would be great right now.
