When to set up property management/pricing software???

Question

I'll be listing my STR in about a month, and I'm curious at what point should I start setting up the back-end systems that will help me manage calendars, pricing, auto emails, etc etc.

I'm thinking of using YourPorter as a management software and Price Labs as a dynamic pricing tool. Do you recommend starting the process of setting these up now or later?

No need for that stuff.  I do all the scheduling of my 23 STRs on a sheet of posterboard.  It ain't rocket science maynge.

I'm with @Paul Sandhu....why all the unnecessary baggage? This is easy. A paper calendar with color coded pens, a notebook and some Excel spreadsheets. Done. Easy. Free. Take it anywhere. Works when the power/internet is out.

Go ahead and do it. Those softwares are cost effective enough that it will not break the bank and you can go ahead and begin familiarizing yourself with them. Check out market dashboard in pricelabs and go ahead and tweak your automated messages in your channel manager.

My information changes every day. If it was all written down I'd have to scribble a lot of things out. With post it notes, I just move them around to the appropriate date.

I use the colored markers so that I can see at a glance which property is booked when. Plus it looks cool on the calendar.....

Even that is too complicated.  I use a black magic marker and small Post-It notes affixed to the poster board.

@Clint G. the sooner the better if you're going to use them. Why wait? An extra 1 month of costs shouldn't break the bank

You should do it with your first one. YourPorter & Pricelabs are good picks.  iGMS is another good channel manager to consider b/c I believe they are still free for 4 or less properties.
