Destin vs Gulf Shores STR rates

Can anyone who is familiar with these locations provide some insight on these two markets and why you may prefer one over another?

I’m also very interested in the rental rates. Online I have seen some sites claim that Gulf Shores brings in significantly more in rental revenue than Destin. That seems hard to believe but I have no other data to go off of. I would very much appreciate anyone’s feedback regarding the rates and information about the areas that you find appealing.
