Can an introvert without a sales background succeed in REI?

Hello everyone! I'm based in Utah and plan to invest in long-term rentals in UT, OK, and/or TX. I plan to buy my first rental property within 2 years (by Dec. 2026). I am the first in my family to do REI and my goal is to break the tradition of working for a salary for 40+ yrs only to retire on what I hope will be enough to start living freely. I'm determined to reach financial freedom from a W-2 job by Dec. 2034. I'm still on the first step of learning as much as I can & shifting my mindset. I've hit a challenge in shifting my mindset and would like to ask the group - if I'm not an extrovert with a sales background and the cushion of a 6-figure corporate job, will I be able to succeed at REI? If you can relate, what were the first steps you took and how did you build your confidence in REI?

I am an engineer who works out of his basement everyday and rarely is on the phone. I like to think I have done ok.

for me finding properties is sales - managing real estate and growing your company requires problem solving.
