Posted

Sold our place in Denver and bought cash in Toledo. Have some family out here and seen an opportunity to get started in investing properties. Me and my fiancé are fixing up our home and looking to pull out equity to invest In our first rental! Our last house in Denver was a flip we did a lot of the work their and are doing the same at our new house. We are handy but are new to investing and rentals. Just wanted to put my self out here and say hello! any advice would be great! Let's talk!

Hi Joe, my wife and I did the exact same thing. In 2005 we moved from Lakewood to Toledo. Those were the good old days of easy financing, so I was able to move here, not get a job and BRRRR my butt off (it wasn't called BRRRR back then). I had done a couple of flips in Denver before coming here and had 1 rental in Commerce City (long story on that one....lost about $180k on it over 10 years. I called it my monthly tuition).

Please let me know how I can help. Toledo is a great place for real estate, but like everywhere it's all about location, location, location. I'd love to hear about your real estate goals, how they fit in with the rest of your life, what your time horizon is, etc.
