Real estate license question/how to get started?

Question

Hi there, I am Hind. I live in Indy. Learning about real estate investing and happy to be here :). I have my non-real estate fulltime job. I would like to get my real estate license ASAP because I prefer to have it before starting to buy properties (I know it is not a requirement). My question is how do I go about finding a managing broker to affiliate with to satisfy the license requirement? Thank you folks

A lot og Brokers will let you 'hang' your license with them.....just call around and ask. I'm not sure why you're bothering to get one though....? Very little value and a lot of expense for a simple investor....unless you're wanting to get into the RE business as an agent...? (Which is a very nice occupation :-)

I am a licensed realtor in Indy - I have some ideas for you -- let's connect.  It really depends what you want out of the brokerage.  Do you need more training?  Do you just want to wholesale?  Are you interested in helping other investors buy houses?  As you can see on these forums -- we need more "good" agents that can help OOS investors analyze deals here.  The majority of agents in this area cannot do that well.

Some Real Estate courses will put you in contact with brokerages if you opt in to do so.  You'll likely get calls/mail from them once you pass your test or even before. Plenty of realtors go for eXp Realty, a primarily online brokerage, as a relatively low fee low commitment brokerage
