Looking to Leverage my IRA money into more real estate

George Easton
Posted

Time to get going. Leaving a company with 6 figure 401k that I'll roll into an IRA. Already have funds in some industrial flex. Looking to use that new money exclusively for real estate- specifically into flips or rentals. Been lurking on BP for about a year and am ready for good feedback, introductions and potential tons of spam (hopefully not).

@George Easton

You have a few choices. Two of them are to set up a Checkbook IRA or a Solo 401k (if self employed and no employees). If the plan will own real estate with a mortgage then the Solo 401k is superior since it's exempt from UBIT on the leveraged portion of the income.
