Newbie from Texas Moving to Mississippi
My name is Hamp Lee III from San Angelo, TX. I’m currently serving in the United States Air Force as a First Sergeant (since January 1995). I’ll be moving to the Gulfport/Biloxi, Mississippi area in the summer and I’ll be looking to begin my real estate adventure while there.
I’m new to real estate investing, but I’m following in the footsteps of my father and grandfather. I’m slowly going through the BiggerPockets site (and there’s a lot to go through). I’ve even joined the recent How to Invest in Small Multifamily Properties webinar. I’m reading books and ready to conduct my due diligence to purchase a multi-family residence in Mississippi. I’d like to start with an owner occupied purchase and see where that takes me.

My husband is active duty navy! We love investing in this transient life! It is awesome great bonus to being able to invest. We buy an personal property at every duty station possible. We also live frugally off one income while saving the other. This allows us to leverage our W2 incomes!
You will love it hear as you have noticed there are lots of us active duty military folk around. Defintily check out the blogs and podcasts too. I had the amazing opportunity to talk about our goals, investing choices and paths in podcast 103. Make sure you signature is filled out.
