hello I am brand new to this and was wondering if it would be a good idea or not to get my real estate license I mean is it necessary or can you still invest or buy and hold etc.... without one. I'm curious cause I want to start investing in real estate but wasn't sure if I should get my license first or just go without any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.-also I live in texas not sure if that matters.
You don't need a license to buy and sell property for yourself or deal properties. Some people want a license to get access to the MLS to find deals. In fact if you had a license meaning you would have a broker, when you have properties you would have to sell through that brokerage. Every state if different in that some allow you to sell your properties and earn that commission others require you to hire a co-worker within your brokerage to sell your property.
